Amrita Hosts Grand Finale of SRISHTI 2025, Kerala State Hackathon for School Students

With the aim of fostering creativity and problem-solving skills among children, the SRISHTI 2025 Hackathon was organized for school students in Kerala. For the first time in the state, students from Classes 6 to 12 came together to participate in this unique hackathon. The initiative was jointly organized by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission, Samagra Shiksha Kerala, and IEEE.

From a pool of 2,320 registered students, 43 of the most outstanding participants were shortlisted for the finals held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi Campus. Notably, nearly one-third of the finalists came from government schools, highlighting the inclusivity of the event.

The competition followed a makeathon format, where students were given hardware kits at the venue and asked to solve problem statements revealed only on the day — testing their ingenuity, teamwork, and real-time innovation skills.

The first prize was awarded to Naamir Nishad, Shamil K A, and Muhammed Shehzan from Ansar English School, Thrissur. The second prize went to Vedik Vinod T. and Ikshith K. V. from AVS GHSS Karivellur, Kannur, while the third prize was secured by Aagney S Pillai and Madhav Raj from Aishwarya Public School, Kollam.

The Grand Finale was inaugurated by Shri T.K. Jose, Chairman of KSERC and Former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Kerala. The ceremony was graced by Shri Anish S, Deputy General Manager, Cochin Shipyard Limited; Swami Poornamritananda Puri, General Secretary, Mata Amritanandamayi Math; Prof. U. Krishnakumar, Dean, School of Arts, Humanities and Commerce, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; and Dr. Shaji B, State Programme Officer, Samagra Shiksha Kerala, along with representatives from the Atal Innovation Mission and IEEE Kerala Section.
