AMMACHI Labs is strengthening its commitment to sustainable, climate-resilient livelihoods with the expansion of its holistic Goat Rearing Programme across multiple villages in Odisha’s Hindol Block.
Following the successful implementation of the initiative in Kurumitha and Krushnachandrapur, the programme has now been scaled to Rajanga and Chhadoi, enabling more families to benefit from structured livestock-based livelihood support.
With close guidance from the District Development Manager, NABARD, and technical support from the Veterinary Department, AMMACHI Labs has completed the following key interventions:
This recent phase directly benefits 36 families in Rajanga and 15 families in Chhadoi, marking a significant step toward improving livelihood security in tribal communities.
The programme is now extending its reach to Panchapada and Baguli, where 49 additional members will receive comprehensive support—including training, goat shed construction, livestock procurement, and health monitoring—by the end of the year.
By the close of the current financial year, the initiative will have empowered 100 families, with an additional 188 families set to be covered under the programme in FY 2025–26.
Implemented under NABARD’s Tribal Development Fund (TDF), the initiative aims to support holistic and sustainable development for tribal households. AMMACHI Labs leads the field execution, community engagement, and technical capacity-building aspects of the programme.
Through responsible livestock management, women’s empowerment, and enhanced household income, the project supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
This expansion marks another milestone in AMMACHI Labs’ long-term vision for resilient rural development and inclusive community empowerment.
