Abstract : This paper proposed a scheme in which demand side management through voltage reduction is carried out. The strategy implemented to reduce voltage is conservative voltage reduction (CVR). The distributed generation is photovoltaic system and it is connected to the microgrid. The reduction in voltage saves an appreciable amount of active (kW) and reactive (kVAR) power. The power reserve created used to cater more demand. The P & O MPPT algorithm is connected to the photovoltaic system to get the desired result. The DC-DC converter used is interleaved boost converter as the converter has minimum ripples and higher voltage gain. The MATLAB simulation is performed and all the results have been validated.
