Abstract : Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed graphic design industry, and also changed traditional roles and workflows. In this paper we look at how AI deeply affects graphic design especially in content and copy creation — in depth, through our work studying the adoption and application of its tools by graphic designers. The research adopts a mixed-method approach, applying surveys, interviews, and case studies to examine how far AI is integrated, and its impact on design productivity, creativity, and autonomy. The results reveal a dramatic increase in graphic designers' use of AI tools, and the benefits involved such as higher productivity rate, dependence on content specialists, and greater creativity. In addition, the study reveals the avenue of new opportunities for the design practice to migrate towards more independent and innovative ones, which can be achieved using AI. While its focus is still primarily on design, we shouldn't forget that it also demonstrates the need to keep learning and adopting new technologies, so that designers are able to fully harness the capabilities AI is capable of within their creative works. Overall, the research shows that AI can not only help the graphic design process but also push the rewrite of the industry skills and roles, namely announcement of changes to the industry wherein AI automates, innovates, and makes the graphic design landscape independent.
