The Football Turf at Amrita School of Medicine was inaugurated, marking a significant addition to sports infrastructure at the Kochi campus. Built with state-of-the-art facilities at the Amrita Hospital campus, the new turf is expected to promote fitness, teamwork, and holistic development among students and faculty.
The turf was inaugurated by State Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar. Eminent journalist and 24 News Editor Sreekandan Nair attended the function as the chief guest.
The event was also graced by District Judge M. Thushar, Kalady Adi Shankara Institutions Managing Trustee Adv. K. Anand, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Director Zakir Hussain Valiyakat, Amrita Hospitals Group Medical Director Dr. Prem Nair, Brahmachari Samsiddhamrutha Chaitanya, Dr. Jaggu Swamy, and Amrita Medical College Principal Dr. K. P. Girish Kumar, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of sports and physical well-being in academic institutions, and appreciated the initiative to create world-class sporting facilities within the campus.
The inauguration was followed by a friendly football match between faculty members and students, filling the new turf with enthusiasm, camaraderie, and sporting spirit.
With the launch of this modern facility, Amrita School of Medicine continues its commitment to nurturing excellence not only in academics and healthcare, but also in sports and overall student development.
