Identified Challenge

Conventional agricultural machinery suffers from high fuel dependency, low energy efficiency, and significant carbon emissions. Existing farming practices lack real-time soil intelligence, resulting in inefficient irrigation, fertilization, and crop management.
Hence, there is a need for an energy-efficient, IoT-enabled, semi-autonomous electric tractor system for sustainable smart agriculture.

The project aims to develop IoT-enabled smart electric tractor integrated with solar energy, soil sensing, and cloud-based monitoring for precision agriculture.

The Study/ Innovation

The smart electric tractor is powered by an electric motor and rechargeable battery system. A solar panel mounted on the tractor supports battery charging and improves energy efficiency. The tractor is equipped with soil sensors to measure moisture, temperature, pH, and nutrient levels. The sensed data are collected by an onboard embedded controller and is transmitted to cloud storage using IoT communication protocols. Machine learning algorithms analyse the collected data and provide smart recommendations to farmers. The system supports precision farming and intelligent irrigation management. Advanced sensors and control systems are used for semi-autonomous driving and vehicle control.
