Professor Prasad Joshi is an eminent scholar of Pāṇinian grammar (Vyākaraṇa), Sanskrit linguistics, and Vedic studies, widely respected for his profound scholarship and distinguished contributions to Sanskrit education and research. He is recognised as one of the foremost contemporary authorities on the Indian grammatical tradition.
He serves as Vice Chancellor (A.), Pro-Vice Chancellor of Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune. He is also theProfessor, General Editor (A.), Director of IKS-EDS Centre, and Head of the Department of Sanskrit and Lexicography at Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Pune, where he played a pivotal role in advancing research in Sanskrit grammar and lexicography. Under his guidance, numerous scholars have pursued advanced research in the śāstric disciplines.
Prof. Joshi’s research encompasses Pāṇinian grammar, Vedic language, Sanskrit lexicography, and Sanskrit grammatical tradition.
