Job Description

  • The Amrita Polymer Research & Innovations Lab headed by Dr. Meera Balachandran invites applications from highly motivated researchers for a Postdoctoral Fellow position to undertake interdisciplinary research in advanced polymer materials, high-performance composites, sustainable polymers, smart materials, and functional polymer systems.

  • The selected candidate will contribute to ongoing and new research projects addressing both fundamental scientific challenges, technology-oriented applications and sustainable materials technologies.

  • Research areas include Polymer blends, nano- and multiscale composites, High-performance polymer composites, Sustainable chemicals and polymers from biomass, Polymer for energy applications, Polymer nanodielectrics, Multifunctional polymer coatings, Smart polymers, including self-healing and intelligent polymers, Sustainable and recycled materials for the polymer industry.

  • Selected candidate is expected to

    • Design, synthesize / process and characterize polymers and polymer composites for functional applications.

    • Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare technical reports, and publish research findings in high-impact SCI-indexed journals.

    • Contribute to developing research proposals, intellectual property development, scientific publications and technology translation.

    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams and external academic/industrial partners.

    • Mentor and guide students involved in related research activities.
