Bio

Dr. Prabhakar Krishnan, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist at the Department of Cyber Security Systems and Networks at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, India. In the mid-’90s, he was one of the lead scientists of India’s Supercomputing R&D lab at CDAC. He has over two decades of Industry experience in the USA and ten years of academic R&D projects in cybersecurity at Amrita University. His current research interests are primarily in Cybersecurity, with a special focus on network security, Quantum technologies (Internet and Cryptography), Network Softwarization and Architecture, SDN/NFV, NextGen Networks(5G/6G) security and architecture, and IoT standardization/compliance. Dr. Krishnan regularly speaks at international symposiums and workshops for the Indian quantum roadmap deliberation and is a core R&D member of the National Quantum Mission and a key stakeholder in taking India forward in Quantum Technologies. In 2017, Dr. Krishnan was invited as an Adjunct Professor by the University of Texas at San Antonio, USA, cybersecurity research lab. He is a Senior member of ACM, IEEE, IETF-SNIA, IESA, Cloud Security Alliance, and the Cloud Computing Council of India. He is a member of the core development group of the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance (OSA) consortium hosted at Eurecom, France, fostering a community of 5G software developers and contributors from the industry. Dr. Krishnan holds 3 US patents in networking and recently published about ten papers in internationally reputable peer-reviewed journals and conferences on quantum computing and communication security topics. Some of his other articles/book chapters are under review. He has taken scientific and technological leadership in researching and developing HPC technologies for the National Supercomputing Mission of India and quantum technologies at the center of excellence at Amrita University.

  • Lead Architect for PARAM OpenFrame Supercomputer systems – Networking & Operating Systems.
  • U-Net: A User-Level Network Interface for Parallel and Distributed Computing, formed the reference for ‘PULP A protected User Level Protocol’ at CDAC’s PARAM Open Frame Supercomputing Cluster.
