Bio

Dr. S. Ullas is an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Amrita School of Computing, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, with research focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) for sustainable wastewater treatment, energy optimisation, and environmental monitoring. With over 24 years of combined academic and industry experience, he has extensive expertise in Computer Networks, Routing & Switching, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), Edge Computing, Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems, and Smart Environmental Monitoring. His research has resulted in publications in reputed Q1 journals, including Applied Water Science and IEEE Access, along with several Scopus-indexed conference papers. Dr. Ullas is a Cisco Networking Academy Expert Level Instructor, recognised among the Top 10% of instructors worldwide, and has played key roles in academic administration, accreditation, student mentoring, and industry-oriented training. His current research interests include AI/ML, IoT, Edge Computing, Computer Networks, Smart Environmental Monitoring, and Sustainable Intelligent Systems, with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and mentoring future researchers.
