How to Apply
  • International admission applicants must apply through the AOAP Portal Specific for International Admissions
  • Admission requests sent by Email, WhatsApp and / or any other means are also to be channelised through the AOAP portal
  • The application is considered for admission if it meets the minimum eligibility requirements that have been laid by the University for the specific course
Who can Apply
  • Foreign nationals (persons of foreign origin) who meet the minimum eligibility criterion for any specific academic program as mentioned in https://amrita.edu/admissions/ are eligible to apply for an International admission
  • International admission is offered for Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate, Ph.D (Full Time) courses
  • Full time Under-Graduate applicants must be within the age group of 17 years to 23 years
  • Applicants must have a completion certificate / transcript for the last academic qualification that they have undergone
  • Admission exceptions are applicable for the following courses
    • Medicine
    • Ayurveda
    • Nursing
    • Live in Labs
    • Internship
    • Observership
Admission Process
  • The selection is communicated to the student with a Provisional Offer Letter (POL) which offers the student details of the course and fees that he will need to pay for his admission
  • Once the student signs and sends the POL, the Provisional Admission Letter is offered which provides the student with a provisional admission in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
  • The admission is finalized once the student provides the following to the University.
  • Under-Graduate admission
    • Valid Passport copy / Valid National ID copy
    • Grade 10 and Grade 12 transcripts
    • Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalency certificate for Grade 12, if Grade 12 has been done from a school / institution / board outside India
    • Filled Amrita scholarship form, applicable for students who are awarded Amrita scholarship only
    • Fee payment receipt (for the annual fees mentioned in the PAL)
    • Sponsorship letter from the concerned person / organization if the student’s education is being sponsored by any person / organization other than his / her biological parent
    • Security deposit of USD 500 (by all foreign students except Nepalese); INR 10000 (by Nepalese)
  • Post-Graduate admission
    • Valid Passport copy / Valid National ID copy
    • Grade 12 / Diploma transcripts
    • Under-Graduate transcripts and certificate of degree completion
    • Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalency certificate for UG transcript, if UG has been done from an institution / board outside India
    • Filled Amrita scholarship form, applicable for students who are awarded Amrita scholarship only
    • Fee payment receipt (for the annual fees mentioned in the PAL)
    • Sponsorship letter from the concerned person / organization if the student’s education is being sponsored by any person / organization other than his / her biological parent

  • Ph.D.

  • The Degrees / Certificates provided by the student must have been recognized and approved by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) / Commonwealth Universities / International Association of Universities (IAU) as equivalent to the corresponding Indian Degrees/ Certificates
  • Nursing courses must get equivalency from The Indian Nursing Council (INC).
Interview & Selection
  • The student selection is based on a 70:30 ratio. 70% weightage is allocated for the marks, while the interview holds 30% weightage.
  • Admission interviews are conducted by a panel consisting of 3-4 expert faculty for each subject area. The student is reviewed and scored by the panelists for the following parameters. Each parameter holds a maximum score of 10.

  • Students are selected for admission based on the scores communicated to the International Admission office after the interview along with the panelist recommendations
Fees Structure & Payment
  • The Fee structure for the program is strictly based on the Provisional Offer Letter (POL) issued to the student. No other fee structure will be applicable
  • Tuition Fee includes Exam fees, Library fees, and / or the Caution Deposit. Hostel Fee included the fee towards Hostel accommodation, Mess (Food) services as well as Health Insurance
  • Upon arrival at campus, the student must make separate payments for Uniforms and Books
  • All fees are to be transferred to the bank account details as provided by the International office
  • Fee payments are to be made in US Dollars (USD), with the exception of Nepalese students who can make the payments in INR
  • The first year fees must be remitted to the University before the student reaches the campus. Subsequent annual fee payments are to be made in a single installment at the times specified by the university
  • A copy of the fee transfer must be sent by the student to the International office in order to acknowledge the payment receipt
  • Annual fees are to be remitted as one single payment. Partial fee payments will not be entertained.
Scholarship
Clauses to Maintain the Amrita Scholarship

The following clauses are communicated to the student as an addendum to the scholarship admission.

    1. Amrita scholarships have been awarded on a one-time renewable basis, for any single program in an academic year. The scholarship is valid for one year and is renewable every year based on the student’s academic performance and conduct
    2. Scholarships are tuition fee waivers only, and the amount of this waiver is based on the type of scholarship awarded. This is strictly non-negotiable and cannot be extended to any other fee categories or substituted in cash
    3. No student can hold more than one scholarship at a time, irrespective of the type and amount of scholarship and / or study support donations
    4. The Scholarship Committee shall set the evaluation criterion for renewal or cessation of scholarship with applicable renewal conditions. The validity of the scholarship duration is based on satisfactory academic performance in each semester / trimester, regular class attendance as well as good standards of behavior throughout the program
      1. The student is to maintain a CGPA of not less than 7.0 every semester to retain the scholarship, Failing which, the tuition fee payable for the remainder of the program shall become due
      2. The student must have a minimum class attendance of 75% and / or as per the specific program requirement in any given semester / trimester to be able to attend the exams; Failing which, the scholarship will be withdrawn on grounds of academic negligence. Absence due to emergency situations and / or circumstances must be intimated in advance and approved by the respective department Chairperson, for it to be considered
      3. The student has to maintain discipline and acceptable behavior during the entire scholarship period, as per the moral code of conduct set by the University. A scholarship student who comes under any disciplinary action and/or pending disciplinary action shall lose the scholarship with immediate effect d. Exceptions to any of the above clauses will be at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and the decision of such a committee will be deemed final
    5. The scholarship is awarded with the support of the academic transcripts that have been submitted by the student to as part of the eligibility fulfilment. Discrepancy in any of the supporting documents will result in immediate withdrawal of scholarship and / or admission
    6. The student must submit the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalence certificate for the last foreign academic qualification and / or academic transcripts to complete the eligibility criterion. Non-compliance in submission of AIU certificate can lead to withdrawal of the scholarship
    7. Submission of the duly filled Amrita Scholarship form at the time of admission is mandatory to maintain the scholarship
    8. Amrita shall have the right to utilize the scholarship awardee to support any promotional activities, and the awardee shall agree to be an Amrita Student Ambassador
    9. Strict adherence of the scholarship clauses, which are a mandate by the University, will assure considerable recommendations for student opportunities abroad during the term of study in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
      Study In India (SII), Compex & GSS scholarships are available for studying in Amrita. The clauses laid by the respective scholarship governing authority will be applicable.

Food & Accommodation
Food
  • Vegetarian food will be provided at the university mess facility
  • Food allergies that have been communicated by student(s) must be clearly communicated to the respective university mess
Accommodation
  • It is mandatory for UG and PG students to stay in the accommodation allocated by the university
  • The student must follow all hostel rules and guidelines at all times
  • Ph.D. students have the option to stay either in the university allocated accommodation or may choose to stay outside the campus premises.
    In the event that the student stays outside the campus, the student must make their own arrangements for food
  • Exceptions with regards to accommodation will be considered on a case to case basis
Medical Insurance

Upon arriving at the campus, all international students are required to acquire a Medical Insurance policy. The cost of the insurance will be bundled with their hostel fees. This insurance will provide coverage for inpatient services
