• The Director – Innovation is a senior leadership position responsible for supporting and advancing the university’s innovation and entrepreneurship agenda.


• Reporting to and assisting the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Director will play a key role in fostering a culture of innovation, driving technology transfer, and strengthening industry and startup engagement.


• The role focuses on translating ideas and research into impactful solutions, ventures, and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and report to the Pro Vice-Chancellor in developing and implementing the university’s innovation strategy


• Identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities for innovation within the university


• Facilitate collaboration between academia, industry, startups, and government bodies


• Support intellectual property (IP) development, patenting, and commercialisation efforts


• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and a culture of creativity across the university


• Organise innovation programs, hackathons, and outreach initiatives


• Mentor students, faculty, and innovators in developing scalable ideas and ventures Qualifications


• Master’s or PhD in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field


• Minimum 12 years of experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, or strategic leadership roles


• Strong track record in building innovation programs, startups, or industry collaborations
