• The Director – Research is a senior leadership position responsible for supporting and advancing the university’s research vision, strategy, and impact.


• Reporting to and assisting the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Director will play a key role in strengthening the university’s research ecosystem, promoting excellence, and enhancing national and global research standing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and report to the Pro Vice-Chancellor in developing and implementing the university’s research agenda


• Support strategic planning and execution of research initiatives aligned with institutional goals


• Oversee research centers, institutes, and interdisciplinary programs under the guidance of the Pro Vice-Chancellor


• Contribute to the development of research policies, frameworks, and governance structures


• Identify and facilitate major research funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships


• Support national and international collaborations with academic, industry, and government stakeholders


• Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, and quality standards in research


• Promote high-impact publications, patents, and knowledge dissemination


• Mentor faculty and research teams to enhance research capacity and performance Qualifications


• PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution


• Minimum 12 years of experience in academic research and leadership roles


• Strong track record of publications, citations, and funded research projects


• Experience in managing large-scale research initiatives and teams


• Demonstrated ability to build collaborations and secure external funding Key Competencies
