Key Performance Areas: 

• Based at CIR, Chennai, will ensure final placement and winter/summer internship of 2nd and 3rd year B.Tech students for the entire batch enrolled with the Chennai campus in particular and across all campuses of the university, in general.


• Also he will facilitate final semester internship of 4th year B.Tech students for the duration of up to 6 months.


• The primary responsibility will be facilitating placement - both internship & FTE - for UG/PG students across specialization and campuses.


• The following activities form part of the job description, to achieve the KPA mentioned at serial Nos. 1 and 2.
  
  
  
  • Acquiring and compilation of the knowledge and skill set requirement of the students in respective industries.
  
  
  • Discussing with the Chairpersons and staff of the different streams to ascertain the details of the present syllabus leading to identification of gaps from the industries’ requirement.
  
  
  • Working with the Head of Placement & Corporate Relations for exploring internship and employment opportunities for these students in the applicable industries.
  
  
  • Working with different groups in CIR for preparation of students, mainly for the internship placement processes and also wherever required, for full time placement.
  
  
  • Identifying and shortlisting the industries for industry visits and internships, for the students (both UG & PG).
  
  
  • Organising technical sessions by guest lecturers from industry.
  
  
  
  


• The above activities are not exhaustive, and all the activities required for achieving the results for KPAs 1 and 2 are to be performed.


• Should ensure maximum visibility of the institution in the corporate world through frequent visits, interaction with the top management and facilitation of programmes like Faculty Development Programmes, Student Visits, Industrial Training, Project Guidance etc.
