Dr. Sasi K. Kottayil, Professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore campus was honored with a commendation certificate by the editorial board of Energy, in recognition for his outstanding contributions to the quality of the journal. Energy is published by the Elsevier company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, a highly respected academic publishing company that publishes medical and scientific literature. Leading products include journals such as The Lancet and Cell,  Energy, books such as Gray’s Anatomy, the ScienceDirect collection of electronic journals and the online citation database Scopus. 

Energy is an international, multi-disciplinary journal in energy engineering and research. The journal aims to be a leading peer-reviewed platform and an authoritative source of information for analyses, reviews and evaluations related to energy. The journal covers research in mechanical engineering and thermal sciences, with a strong focus on energy analysis, energy modeling and prediction, integrated energy systems, energy planning and energy management.

The Outstanding Reviewer Status is given out by the Elsevier team to encourage and acknowledge  contributions by reviewers.  Dr. Sasi achieved the top 10th percentile in terms of the number of reviews completed for the journal Energy in the past two years.  Dr. Sasi’s activities in energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy, both in academics and practical field, are acknowledged by this commendation certificate.  The award included a certificate and a badge.

“I have been reviewing papers for Energy, the international journal, since 2004 and was also recognized as leading reviewer of energy in September 2013. This is recognition of Amrita’s involvement in research publication at global level,” he shared.  His research focuses on the energy conservation and renewable energy. He is the coordinator of Amrita Wind Energy Center, Coimbatore that is being set up with the support from Government of India.  He has also carried out more than eight sponsored projects in the field of energy studies.​
