The Amrita Advanced Breast Imaging Centre at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, has announced a one-year fellowship program in Breast Imaging and Interventions, designed to provide an immersive, hands-on training experience for freshly qualified radiologists seeking structured expertise in breast imaging.
The fellowship offers training on cutting-edge imaging modalities, including:
- 3D Mammography
- Contrast-Enhanced Mammography
- High-Resolution Ultrasound
- Breast MRI
Participants will also gain practical experience in image-guided interventions, such as:
- Ultrasound-guided procedures
- Tomosynthesis-guided procedures, including vacuum-assisted biopsy and excision
- Pre-operative localization with marker clips and wire placement
- Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC)
The program emphasizes multi-disciplinary mentorship, allowing fellows to collaborate with breast surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pathologists. Fellows will also undergo six-monthly practical and theory assessments to ensure comprehensive learning.
