Amrita Ayurveda School Conducts Charaka Tatvamritam 2020 Seminar

The Department of Samhita and Basic Principles of Ayurveda, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, conducted a two-day seminar “Charaka Tatvamritam 2020”- Parayana and Sambhasha on Shvayathu and Udara chikitsitam adhyayas of Charaka Samhita on a Virtual platform, from December 16-17, 2020.

Dr. C. Usha Kumari (Professor & Head, Department of Samhita & Basic Principles of Ayurveda, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) introduced the resource persons and welcomed the gathering. Dr. C. Nagarajan (Swami Sankaramritananda Puri, Principal & Medical Director, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) delivered the inaugural speech. Dr. R. N. Tripathy (Vice-principal, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) and Dr. Ramesh N.V. (Professor & Head, Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) gave felicitations to the program.

Dr. Rammanohar P. (Director, ACARA, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) delivered the keynote address.

Dr. Kirathamoorthy P. P. (Professor & Head, Dept. of Samhita, Sanskrit & Siddhanta, VPSV Ayurveda College, Kottakkal) was the resource person. Dr. Leena P. Nair (Associate Professor, Department of Samhita & Basic Principles of Ayurveda, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) proposed the vote of thanks.

The sessions were highly beneficial to the students and the resource person was a good orator with in-depth knowledge of the principles and practice of Charaka Samhita.

A case on Udara roga was presented by Dr. Lekshmi Sumesh (Second-year post-graduate scholar, Department of Samhita & Basic Principles of Ayurveda, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) followed by a discussion with the resource person. The program was conducted for the third-year and fourth-year undergraduate students as well as first-year and second-year postgraduate scholars. Delegates from other Ayurveda colleges also participated. A total number of 319 delegates were benefitted from the sessions.
