By the grace of Chancellor Amma, Amrita WNA team successfully conducted their 2nd Vishuthaineetham event on April 2016. The theme of the event was ‘To reduce your carbon foot print’’.
Last year’s program was successful both by participation and result-wise. This program was conducted as part of the Live-in-Labs program and is the result of weeks of hard work by staff and students of Amrita. The program started with prayers to the departed souls and family of the Kollam Puttingal Temple disaster.Chancellor Amma’s video message on the need to bring balance in nature was played. Senior staff members of Amrita WNA distributed saplings. Students and staff members shared their thoughts on various environmental issues. Further instructions on how to grow the saplings were given a and pledge to protect the nature was also taken. This time, Amrita WNA had varieties of plants such as Bottle gourd, Snake gourd, Ladies finger, Beans, Bitter gourd, Brinjal, Tomato and Green Chilli.
