Amrita Hospital Organizes Medical Relief Camps in Kuttanadu, Kerala

Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center at Kochi campus provided medical relief camps to the flood-affected areas in Kuttanadu of Alappuzha district, Kerala, on August 1, 2018. The team consisted of twelve doctors from General Medicine, General Surgery, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Paediatrics departments and served 261 patients in Payattumpatta area and 143 patients in Chembakka area. The State Government instructed Amrita Hospital to depute a medical team to the flood-affected areas.

A total of 261 patients were screened. The details of the investigation are as follows:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC) – 53 patients
  • Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) – 51 patients
  • Electrocardiography (ECG) – 18 patients
  • Hepatitis B – 7 patients 
  • Nebunilization – 16 patients
  • Diabetics – 34 patients
