Amrita research project titled Video Analytics based Identification and Tracking in Smart Spaces has been approved for a grant of Rs.14. 64 lakhs from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The funding is received as part of the Fast Track Young Scientist program in Engineering Science Scheme of the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. 

The Principal Investigator (PI) of the project is Dr. Vivek Menon. The project will be ongoing for three years. The project is affiliated with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri Campus.
