Amrita University offers its respectful homage to Swami Sankaramritananda Puri, Dean of Amrita School of Ayurveda, a senior sannyasi disciple of Amma and a respected Ayurveda Acharya who dedicated his life to spiritual pursuit, service, and the preservation of India’s sacred traditions.
As Dean, Swami guided Amrita School of Ayurveda and Amrita Ayurveda Hospital for many years, steering their growth with deep expertise in Ayurveda and a strong spiritual foundation. Well versed in Sanskrit and the scriptures, he was widely admired for his discourses on the Lalita Sahasranama, Saundarya Lahari, Abhirami Antadi, Ramayanam, and other sacred texts, which brought clarity and depth to countless students and devotees.
His legacy lives on through the institutions he built, the students he mentored, and the wisdom he shared with generations of seekers.
