• You are requested to report the School of Biotechnology at 8:00 AM on July 26, 2017.

Hosteller,

1. You are requested to report respective hostels (as given below) on July 25, 2017 between 8.30 AM and 6.00 PM.
2. Please note that you must have submitted the demand draft for hostel fee in order to allot a hostel room for you.
3. There will be a collection point near the hostel office to submit your demand draft in case you have not submitted before.

You may directly go to respective hostel office if you have already submitted the Hostel Fee demand draft. 

• Parents who accompany the students can get accommodation, if need be, in the Ashram. They may contact the Ashram accommodation counter on this regard on payment basis. Advance booking is not necessary. Since it is Ashram accommodation, only limited facilities (for food and accommodation) will be available. Accommodation is offered from 25thevening onwards. Limited canteen facilities will also be available in the Ashram premises.
• Requirements like mattresses, pillows, buckets etc. (if needed) will be provided on payment basis and can be purchased at the time of hostel admission.
• Room allocation will be at the time of admission and supply of related requirements will be done at the respective hostels. Parents are NOT permitted to stay with students in the hostels.
• You may submit the demand draft for hostel fee at the helpdesk in the respective hostels.

TRAVEL GUIDANCE TO REACH AMRITAPURI

The School of Biotechnology at Amritapuri Campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is located in Vallickavu, Kollam District, about 10 KM from ‘Oachira’ junction and about 4.5 KM from Vavvakkavu both on NH47 Alapuzha-Thiruvananthapuram Highway.

By Air and Taxi: Kochin (Kochi) International Airport at Nedumbassery is situated 140 KM north of the campus and Trivandrum International Airport (Thiruvananthapuram), located 110 kilometers south of Amritapuri. One can ask for a pre-paid taxi to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri. The taxi-ride costs about ₹2,500 and takes about three to four hours to reach Amritapuri.

By Car:

• Directly to School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
  One can take a turn to left from Vavvakkavu (a small junction between Karunagappally and Oachira) on national highway in case coming from south side. 4.5 KM drive will take you to Vallickavu junction which is where Institution is located. In case coming from north side, take a turn from Changankulangara (small junction between Oachira and Karunagappally) 5 KM drive will take you to Vallickavu, a small town where Institution is located.
• Directly to Mata Amritandanamayi Math
  One can take a left turn Karunagappally immediately after POLICE station on national highway in case coming from south side. Take a turn right after crossing bridge to reach Mata Amritanandamayi Math, the parental organization of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. In case coming from north side, take a right turn from Oachira and drive straight to cross AyiramthenguBridge and continue in left to reach Mata Amritandanamayi Math.

By Train: Kayamkulam is the closest train station situated 12 KM north of the campus. After disembarking, one can hire an autorickshaw to come to the campus. The ride costs about Rs.220 and takes about 20 minutes. Buses are also available from Kayamkulam Bus-Stand to Vallickavu Junction, which is about a five-minute walk from the campus.

By Bus: One can alight at Oachira junction if coming from north side or at Karunagappally if coming from south side. From Oachira/Karunagappally, one can hire an autorickshaw for a cost about Rs. 200 to come directly to ASBT, Amritapuri. Or one may board a bus going to Vallickavu Junction, which is about a five-minute walk from the campus.
