M. D. in Biochemistry is a Non Clinical Speciality course offered by the Amrita School of Medicine.
Doctor of Medicine in Biochemistry is a three-year postgraduation course. Biochemistry is essentially the application of chemistry to the study of biological processes at molecular and cellular level. Subjects studied under this degree are General Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Cell and Biophysics, Bio statistics, Metabolism and Nutrition, Medical Biochemistry, Metabolism and Genetics, Molecular Basis of Human Diseases, Recent Advances in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. The course includes training in the basic instrumentation and procedures pertaining to biochemistry that are required to be practiced in community and at all levels of health care system.
Graduates in biochemistry are placed in the teaching field in government or in private sectors and other fields such as research institutes, agriculture, chemical manufacturing industries, forestry, laboratories, dietetics, industry, hospitals.

Eligibility Criteria : NEET PG – 2023 qualified candidates who have been allotted to Amrita School of Medicine by the MCC, New Delhi are eligible to report for admissions for the academic year 2023-24.
