Amrita Centre for Entrepreneurship (ACE) hosted its fifth Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) for the students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham from September 16 -18, 2016. The three-day camp saw a participation of 75 engineering students who aspired to become entrepreneurs. Several established entrepreneurs shared their vast knowledge and experiences in their journeys to become successful.

Krishnan, Moumita Roy and Vignesh, under the guidance of Ashok Kumar Mohan (Research Scholar), participated in the one day training programme on Cyber Forensics Challenges and Solutions organised by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kalasalingam University on 22nd October, 2016.
Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, has been nominated as the National Student Coordinator (NSC) of the Computer Society of India (CSI). The CSI NSC has overall responsibility for professional activities and administration of the 500+ CSI student branches in leading universities and colleges all over India.
Young Indians network of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore hosted the first session of its “Coffee with CEO” initiative at Shradha Hall in the campus on 7th October, 2016. The program provided a platform for the students to meet the company heads in person over a cup of coffee.
On the occasion of the birthday of the Late President of India Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the Young Indians network of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASB) hosted a charity event “Daan Utsav” at Ettimadai village on October 15, 2016.
The Department of Cultural Education organized a day-long tour to the temple city of Madurai on 17 September, 2016. The purpose of the tour was to introduce the students to the rich cultural legacy of India through visits to important cultural and pilgrim centres. Madurai, the high seat of Pandiyan art, architecture, and culture, was chosen for the first visit, given its close proximity to Ettimadai campus.
The students of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore have won the silver and bronze medals at the prestigious 20th Student Management Games (SMG 2016) – Southern Regional Rounds and South Finale held at Sri Krishna Institutions, Coimbatore on 6th-7th October, 2016.
Mr. Edwin Jegam, HR – Head Corporate Accounts TCS, presented the “TCS Best Student Project Award 2016” to Srivenkata Krishnan S., Sundarrajan G., Kiran Kassyap S. of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, for the project titled, “A Robust Approach for Improving the Accuracy of IMU based Indoor Mobile Robot Localization”, guided by Dr. Vidhya Balasubramanian, Associate Professor, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore on 30th September, 2016.

It has raised numerous opportunities and challenges, triggering the “digital transformation” of enterprises. Mr. Natarajan Radhakrishnan, former Senior Vice President & Offshore Head for Consulting, Capgemini intrigued students of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore on the topic, offering a glimpse of how digital transformation extended the reach of companies, enhanced the management decisions, and influenced the development of products and services.
Ahead of the placements this year, the Alma Connect Club and the Placement Committee (Placecom) of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore organized two Alumni Placement Boot Camps at the campus in the months of August and September.
