The Department of Physical Education, Coimbatore Campus, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized the South Zone Inter-university table tennis tournament along with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), on the campus from 4th to 6th October, 2017.

Amrita Chess Club member student, Mr. M. S. Sasankan, 3rd year Computer Science and Engineering, Amritapuri, secured 5th place in the 2nd Champions International FIDE Rated Tournament Below 1600 rating, held at Salem, Tamil Nadu.
Tummala Akhil Suman, 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri, participated in the South India Power Lifting Championship and bagged gold medal in sub junior, 105 weight Category.
The Amrita School of Biotechnology (ASBT)’s Annual Sports Meet was hosted on the 3rd and 4th of March, 2017. The faculty members and students of ASBT recognize the importance of a wholesome education in which physical education and fitness are of great significance.
The department of Management, Bengaluru Campus organised their annual Sports Day on two days: the 18thand 19th of February, 2017. The objective was to develop sporting spirit among the students and offer a venue to display their physical prowess.
