The ‘Team Vision’ and ‘Team Exalt’, two student hackathon teams from the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, showcased outstanding performances and secured a prominent position among top 20 teams that represented India, in the 30 hour Singapore-India Hackathon 2018.
Two students from Amrita Health Sciences campus, Ms. Rakhi Krishna of 5th year Pharm D., School of Pharmacy, and Mr. Shankar S. Menon of 3rd year BDS, School of Dentistry, have entered the grand finale of “Speak for India Kerala Edition 2018” debate competition.
Dr. Vandana K. Vasudevan, third year PG Scholar from the Department of Prasutitantra and Streeroga, School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, won first prize for presenting scientific paper at “Prajnanam 2019” – National Seminar on Management of Infertility in Ayurveda, organised by Amrita School of Ayurveda from February 1-2, 2019.
Dr. Anisha Ashokan, second year MD Resident in Microbiology, School of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, won the ‘Best Poster Award’ in the CME on “Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance” at Government Medical College, Palakkad, held on February 2, 2019.
It was another proud moment for Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham as Mr. Vijey Shrivathsan, B. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) 2016-2020 batch from Coimbatore campus became the first student from Amrita to secure the coveted IUSSTF-Viterbi research internship.

The first year students of Amrita School of Business, Kochi campus, won second prize in the finance game ”Shekkel” held as part of the Talentime 35 National Level Management Fest conducted by the School of Management Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) from January 10-12, 2019.
This year’s All Kerala Inter Pharma Sports Meet, Pharma Sportiva 2019, was hosted by Devaki Amma Memorial College of Pharmacy and was held at University of Calicut, January 10-12, 2019. Twenty-eight students from Amrita School of Pharmacy participated and secured the sixth position in the event.
In an intercollegiate rapid style chess tournament held at Kollam on December 9th, 2018, the Amrita chess team, comprising of four players, grabbed second prize which included Rs. 3000 cash prize, trophies and certificates.
The 25th National Conference of Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry (IAPHD) was held at Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, between 30th November to 2nd December, 2018.
