Amrita Scientist Develops Computer Models to Map Brain Disorders

Amrita Center for Computational Neurosciences and Neurophysiology at School of Biotechnology, Amritapuri campus has developed a computer model to understand the brain disorders. Besides neurological disorders, the approach based on accelerated computing platform can be extended to understand cancer, its origin and functional misbehavior and even infections spread through viruses.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Computational Neuroscience Lab, part of the School of Biotechnology, has been using the NVIDIA Tesla Accelerated Computing Platform to design prediction models for neurological disorders and to better understand neural circuit function. This work will ultimately help pioneer treatments for brain disorders and dysfunctions, as well as support developments in engineering and robotics. Shyam Diwakar, is the Lab Director of Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology Labs.
