Amrita Team Studies Health Benefits of Traditional Kerala Cuisine in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

The use of locally available ingredients which are rich in fibre is diminishing in Kerala leading to an upsurge in the number of type 2 diabetes. There exists a myth that consuming parboiled varieties of rice leads to an increase in blood sugar levels. But the nutritional content present in these and its effect on lifestyle diseases has been ignored. To highlight the importance of the readily and locally available ingredients used decades ago in Kerala, a study was conducted to explore its health benefits in patients with type 2 diabetes.  

Amrita Bags Award for Indo-U.S. Molecular Biomarker Knowledge Network for COVID-19 Project

The Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), announced the award for the bilateral project partnered by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, University of California San Diego (UCSD) and Stanford University. The project is titled "Establishment of an Indo-US Molecular Biomarker Knowledge Network for COVID-19".

MoU Signed Between Amrita's AMMACHI Labs and Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC)

The Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s AMMACHI Labs on June 15, 2020, engaging the research center as a Knowledge Partner for its skill-training initiatives in Karnataka.
