Bio

Amrutha Veluppal is an Assistant Professor at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. She received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, focusing on MRI-based analysis of Alzheimer’s disease, and holds an M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Rourkela and a B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Government Engineering College Kozhikode.

Her research lies at the intersection of biomedical signal processing, medical image analysis, and AI-driven healthcare. She works on developing interpretable machine learning and deep learning frameworks for computer-aided diagnosis, with a growing focus on multimodal approaches for neurodegenerative disorder detection.

She has experience in biosignal acquisition and experimental system design, and she actively teaches signal processing and AI courses while mentoring students in building data-driven and IoMT based healthcare solutions.
