The festive spirit of Kerala’s Onam came alive at the School of Allied Health Sciences, Faridabad, with a day filled with colors, culture, and community bonding. Held at the LG Floor of the Medical College, the celebration saw enthusiastic participation from UG and PG students of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 batches, along with faculty and staff, embracing the festival in its authentic traditional essence.
The occasion was graced by Swami Nijamritanand ji, Administrative Director, and Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director, as Chief Guests. Their presence, along with several esteemed dignitaries from the Medical College and the School of Allied Health Sciences, lent prestige and warmth to the festivities.
The celebrations began with a Pookalam (floral rangoli) competition, where students showcased their creativity and teamwork through intricate and vibrant floral designs. This was followed by a series of cultural performances, including classical and folk dances and traditional Onappattu songs, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Kerala.
Fun-filled games such as tug of war, blindfold bindi placement, musical chairs, and pass-the-flour engaged students and faculty alike, fostering camaraderie and joyous interaction. The active participation of faculty members in the games added extra cheer and encouragement, making the celebrations truly memorable.
No Onam celebration is complete without traditional delicacies. Guests and participants enjoyed payasam, Onam sweets, and banana chips, bringing a taste of Kerala’s festive flavors to the campus. The celebration concluded with a grand group dance by all students, symbolizing unity, joy, and cultural pride. Cheers of “AHS” resonated across the hall, reflecting the strong spirit of togetherness.
The Onam celebration at the School of Allied Health Sciences was not just a cultural event but a heartfelt expression of tradition, unity, and joy. It successfully brought together students, faculty, and staff, reinforcing the essence of Onam. Special appreciation was extended to the organizing team, student coordinators, and the Estate Office for making the event seamless and memorable.
