The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SSBS) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is proud to announce that its faculty members have been awarded the ICSSR – Punyashloka Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Grant, a prestigious recognition supporting cutting-edge social research in India.
The sanctioned project, titled “Collective Efficacy in Action: A Retrospective Longitudinal Study of Women’s Leadership in Sanitation and Environmental Stewardship under the Amala Bharatam Campaign,” will explore women’s leadership roles in driving sanitation and environmental transformation through community-based initiatives.
The project will be led by Dr. Srividya Sheshadri, Associate Director, CWEGE, as the Principal Investigator (PI), with Dr. Bhavani R. Rao, Dean, School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, as the Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI).
This grant underscores the School’s commitment to advancing impactful, socially relevant research that bridges gender, sustainability, and community development — aligning with Amrita’s vision of compassion-driven societal transformation.
