Amrita College of Nursing, Faridabad, honoured the state of Haryana in connection with the Haryana Day, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state and its contribution to the nation. The celebration was conducted on November 8th, 2025.
It began with a welcome address, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in remembrance of Amma, thus setting a reverent and positive atmosphere. The Principal gave an inspiring message with emphasis on the importance of Haryana Day and the historical importance of the state in the country’s cultural and socio-economic aspects.
A student spoke on this occasion, enlightening the audience about the formation of the State, its identity, and achievements in agriculture, sports industry, and cultural heritage. The speech also highlighted why Haryana Day is celebrated.
A soulful Haryanvi group song was played by a first-year student in the beginning of the cultural showcase. It was then followed by a quiz on the history and culture of Haryana to test the knowledge of the audience and arouse interest and excitement.
The most exciting moments of the day were the colourful ramp walk where the confident students came up the stage, draped in traditional Haryanvi attire. Their vibrant costumes, accessorised with intricate jewellery and spirited expressions, brought into life the real charm of Haryana’s cultural identity.
Cheers echoed in the amphitheatre as the audience admired the elegance and pride with which the students portrayed the heritage of the state. This continuous burst of colour and tradition was succeeded with great poise by an electrifying Haryanvi group dance, performed with impeccable energy and enthusiasm. The rhythmic beats and synchronous steps instantly raised the spirits.
A short cultural film was screened that featured soulful glimpses of Haryana’s rural landscapes, folk art, festivals, and snippets of everyday life that added depth and meaning to the celebrations. The visuals brought students and faculty closer to the very roots of the state; the experience was both educational and emotional.
Faculty members came forward to convey messages, appreciating the efforts put in by the students. They made a special mention about how important it was to honor cultural diversity within an academic setup. The celebration ended on a note of joy when the students and faculty got together to dance on popular Haryanvi beats.
Laughter, claps, and energy-packed moves enthralled the amphitheater, capturing the very spirit of the occasion of Haryana Day — unity, pride, and appreciation for one’s culture. This event brought not only the richness of Haryana’s heritage upfront but has gone a long way in strengthening the relationship among the students, thereby making it truly memorable and worth the celebration.
