Abstract : This paper presents a sophisticated design of an FPGA-based vending machine that counters common challenges in the traditional vending machines, including the quality of products sold, efficient stocking, and energy optimization. The proposed system will incorporate smart shelves that detect and isolate aged or damaged products to increase the quality of goods for customers to ensure trust and reliability. A real-time stock monitoring feature will generate low-stock alerts for streamlined inventory management, while an integrated recommendation engine personalizes the user experience through product suggestions based on availability and popularity. The design will emphasize energy efficiency through an idle power-saving mode, reducing operational costs and environmental impact without compromising functionality. There is also a dedicated compartment for expired or damaged products, ensuring operational sanitation and support for sustainability efforts. The proposed system, with real-time processing, intelligent features, and strong structural design, is a huge leap forward for automated retailing and ensures better performance, user satisfaction, and environmental responsibility.
