Powering the Future of E-Mobility: Amrita Bengaluru FDP Explores AI and High-Power Electronics for Next-Gen EVs

The Faculty Development Programme conducted at Amrita School of Engineering in Bengaluru was a significant success, bringing together leading experts from both industry and academia worldwide to discuss how artificial intelligence and high-power electronics will shape the future of electric mobility.

Through various sessions, experts from institutions and organizations like IIM Bangalore, Tata Consultancy Services, Reliance Industries Limited, University of Agder (Norway), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (Malaysia), NITK Surathkal, OPAL-RT Technologies, MathWorks, and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham contributed insightful information regarding the usage of artificial intelligence in industries like EVs, battery recycling, quick charging techniques, smart controllers, virtual vehicle simulations, etc.

Some of the essential topics covered included the entire EV ecosystem of AI-based decision-making in the mobility space, EV controller development and Hardware-in-the-Loop tests, fast charge strategies, charging station throughput, optimization of hybrid and renewable-based energy systems, the complementarity of hydrogen and electric power in mobility, as well as power converters in the context of green hydrogen.

Sessions focused on implementing AI-driven battery management systems, alongside using Power HILs to test EV charging systems, underscored intelligent management systems will be crucial for secure, competent, and expandable electric vehicle deployments.

The FDP gathered its wide assortment of experts together so that they could continue to solidify Amrita’s resolve to allow its faculty and students to flourish in a world to come which will be a hybrid mix of sustainable transportation, artificial intelligence, and clean energy solutions.
