The Clinical Nursing Research Society of the North Zone organized the National Conference and Nursing Research Summit (NCNRS 2026) in collaboration with Amrita College of Nursing-Faridabad. With a theme of “Advancing Nursing Research for Safer Patient Care and Evidence-Based Practice” that emphasizes the role of nursing research to improve practice.
It was a three-day event commenced with pre-conference workshops, which provided practical applications of PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act), systematic reviews, qualitative data analysis and an exploration of the use of artificial intelligence in research. A total of 111 individuals participated in the pre-conference workshops held at AIIMS-New Delhi and Amrita College of Nursing-Faridabad.
A pivotal session took place, featuring keynote speakers, plenary sessions, panel discussions, and a Nursing Research Summit. There were many remarkable speakers in attendance from some of the finest institutions in the country including: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Amrita Hospital, Fortis Healthcare, Medanta Hospital, and Sarvodaya Healthcare. The topics presented included assured patient safety; quality improvement in nursing; advancement of nursing through nursing research; ethically and legally sound nursing care; and innovations in digital health.
The Nursing Research Summit vividly demonstrated the spirit of inquiry through oral presentations, poster presentations, and presentations for awards and paper. Altogether there were 87 scientific papers presented at the summit, with a record number of states represented (21) within India. The Summit had the support of over 40 member resource faculty.
The conference has been inaugurated by the esteemed presence of Dr. T. Dilip Kumar, President, Indian Nursing Council, along with other dignitaries like Dr. Maneesha Vinodini Ramesh, Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean, School for Sustainable Futures; Dean, International Programs; UNESCO Chair on Experiential Learning for Sustainable Innovation & Development; Director, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks & Applications; Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, Professor-cum-Principal, AIIMS Bathinda; Dr. Lekha Viswanath, Principal, Amrita College of Nursing; Dr. Latha Venkatesan, Principal, College of Nursing, AIIMS New Delhi; Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Administrative Director, Amrita Hospital Faridabad; and Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director, Amrita Hospital Faridabad.
Over 750 delegates had registered for NCNRS 2026, with an active attendance of 734 delegates for the research summit and conference in offline and online formats. This event was successful in creating awareness on the latest trends in nursing research and reiterating the significance of evidence-based practice, innovation, and research in promoting safe patient practices, thereby further enhancing the commitment of Amrita College of Nursing in Faridabad to promoting research among nurses.
