The Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham ACM Student Chapter, Amritapuri, was honored by the ACM India Outstanding Chapter Activities Award 2025 for its notable activities conducted by the numerous student chapters throughout the country. The award was given to the student chapter at IIT Hyderabad from ACM India, and is an outstanding accomplishment for the active student community at Amritapuri.
Special recognition and congratulations go to the student chairpersons of our ACM Student Chapter: Akhil Menon (BTech CSE 2022) and Vasudev B (BTech CSE 2023). The leadership and qualities of Akhil Menon and Vasudev B have been instrumental to the chapter receiving this national recognition due to their leadership visions and fitness to serve as student chairpersons and also as host of many flagship events during their chairperson tenure thus enhancing the overall campus ecosystem of learning, innovation and outreach.
This is a reflection of the commitment, effort, and passion of each and every student member who have represented the spirit of academic rigor and professional dedication to the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) through their participation.
Key programmes that helped earn this recognition included the Evolumin Hackathon, OLabs Hackathon, Epochon Hackathon, Summer School for school children, Bridge Course for Juniors and the Agentic AI Hackathon, all geared towards problem-solving, peer learning, industry readiness and socially-responsible tech innovation.
This is to make sure that these young adults have a chance to look at the future, work with others, and make a difference in society by using new technology (ibid).
The achievement also credits the unwavering support and guidance that came from the faculty mentors Mr Binu P K., Dr Geetha M., Dr Gopakumar G., Dr Jyothisha J., Dr Swaminathan J., Dr Divya Udayan., Dr Ani R., and Ms Priya Ravi., and all the faculty members who were organisers, committee members, panelists and unsung heroes. This guidance has helped in developing a chapter that is student centred as well as academically oriented.
The award exists for student and faculty community members who have worked to develop a dynamic technical community that emphasizes knowledge acquisition and social responsibility at Amritapuri.
The award recognizes all students and faculty members who dedicated themselves to building a vibrant knowledge base at Amritapuri which created a socially responsible technical community that led to this chapter’s achievement.
The chapter dedicates this accomplishment to the Lotus Feet of Amma with gratitude for her grace and blessings which continuously promote a culture of service, excellence, and growth on campus.
This achievement will serve as a milestone which enables us to achieve even greater accomplishments in the future. Loads to ACM Amritapuri team members who achieved this national level recognition.
