The students of Amrita School of Medicine, Faridabad, observed the third annual College Day, Lost Vegas 3.0, with remarkable enthusiasm and grandeur. This third edition of the highly awaited fest was a vibrant reflection of the cultural richness and intellectual vibrancy of the institution and the students. This celebration was held with the distinguished guidance of the Principal, Dr. Maj Gen T.K. Saha, who added prestige to the occasion.
The event was flagged off on an auspicious note with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, which symbolizes the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. This ceremony was conducted in the presence of distinguished dignitaries like Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director, and Dr. Ashutosh with Dr. B.K. Mishra. This event was conducted with remarkable finesse by Ruchir Shahi Rajpoot and Utkarshini Kumar of the 2023 batch.
Another high point of the celebration was the variety of competitions held by different student clubs. These competitions reflected creativity, intellect, and talent. The debate competition, “Court of Convictions: Where Voices Stand Trial,” hosted by the Plexus – ASM Debating Society, delved into interesting topics such as reproductive rights, genetic engineering, and ethics. The competition was marked by insightful discussions and interesting dialogue exchanges, judged by an esteemed panel of faculty members.
The musical event, hosted by Swarenity – ASM Music Society, added another dimension to the celebration. The inclusion of an instrumentalist playing the tabla added to the richness of the event, leaving the audience spellbound. This was followed by an interesting spelling competition that emphasized team efforts and interactive competition, thus creating an energetic and lively competition.
Adding to the fervor of the celebration, the dance competition hosted by Elysium – ASM Dancing Society displayed the energy and talent of the participants. The finale of the spelling competition marked an interesting end to the competitions with an exciting round of the competition.
The culmination was a grand award ceremony to honor the students for their excellence in different areas.The student recognition included leadership, cultural, sports, and research activities, while the academic recognition included honoring students for their outstanding performance in subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology, among others.
Pearl Vashisht expressed her appreciation to all participants with a vote of thanks and the shloka “Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu” was recited to end the proceedings on a peaceful note. The event culminated joyfully with a buffet tea, generating an experience of community and enjoyment for everyone present.
Lost Vegas 3.0 was a direct experience of the complete development philosophy at Amrita, where we encourage our students to be innovative, work together and make meaningful contributions to society.
