Transforming Education in India: Empowering Students and Teachers for the Digital Age
Project Description

This project represents an opportunity to redefine education in India and foster a new era of technology-enhanced learning and teaching, irrespective of infrastructure limitations or economic disparities. In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape, transformative initiatives are essential to equip students and teachers with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed for success in the digital age.

Recognizing the challenges related to infrastructure, content, pedagogy, and technology, this project addressed these gaps through two specialized workshops.

  • Workshop on Technology and Digital Skills for Students
Conducted over six days, this workshop introduced students to essential technological skills, equipping them with hands-on experience in digital tools and problem-solving activities. The training empowered students from rural, semi-urban, and peri-urban schools, fostering confidence in using technology as both consumers and creators.
  • Workshop on Ed-Tech and Generative AI for Students and Teachers
This eight-day workshop provided students and teachers with practical experience in digital education tools and the responsible use of Generative AI. The program included five days of skill training, two days of AI-focused learning, and one day dedicated to project development. Participants gained digital literacy skills, Ed-Tech proficiency, and an understanding of ethical technology use.

Through these workshops, students gained hands-on experience on creating artifacts with digital tools, strengthening their confidence and problem-solving abilities, while teachers developed the skills to integrate technology effectively into their classrooms. By directly engaging 338 Scheduled Caste (SC) students across Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar, this initiative provided crucial exposure to emerging technologies, helping bridge the digital divide in under-represented communities. The project not only enhanced digital literacy but also fostered a mindset of continuous learning, ensuring that both students and educators are better equipped to navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape of the 21st century.
