On October 31st, 2018, Dr. Shyam Diwakar of Amrita School of Biotechnology (ASBT) was invited to give a talk on “Online Engineering and Virtual Laboratories in India: Learners and Teachers Beyond Traditional Classrooms” to professors and their international office team at the Munich Center for Neurosciences– Brain & Mind (MCN) at Munich, Germany.
In another stellar display of its academic excellence, 42 students and young researchers from the Amrita School of Biotechnology (ASBT) have presented 11 peer-reviewed papers at the International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI) held between 11th and 15th of September, 2018 at PES University, Bengaluru, India.
Amrita professors visited the Aix-Marseille Université in Marseilles, France, as a follow-up visit on November 5, 2018, and met with faculty members and Deans of several departments.
Amrita professors visited the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), University of Copenhagen (CS), and Aalborg University Copenhagen campus, in the month of October 2018.
A team of Amrita professors visited University of Twente, Netherlands. Arranged by the Amrita Center for International Programs, ACIP, the visit by the Amrita delegation facilitates thesis internships, student exchanges and new research collaborations between the two Universities.

Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Director, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (AmritaWNA), Amritapuri campus and Dr. Shyam Diwakar, Director, Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology, Amritapuri, participated as Young Faculty Research Fellows of the Visvesvaraya PhD scheme by Digital India corporation under Ministry of Electronics and IT, Govt. of India, at Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, from September 13-15, 2018.
Amrita School of Biotechnology’s M. Sc. students, Sreedev R. and Abhijith Balachandran participated in Computational Approaches to Memory and Plasticity (CAMP) 2018, a 16-day summer school on the theory and simulation of learning, memory and plasticity in the brain, at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore, from July 1-16, 2018.
A team of professors from Amrita visited Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA, on July 6, 2018.
Dr. Shyam Diwakar, Lab Director of the Computational Neuroscience and Neurophysiology Laboratory and Associate Professor of Amrita School of Biotechnology, was invited to present at the 5th Bangalore Cognition Workshop 2018 held at IISc from June 17-29, 2018.
