Bio

Dr. M. Ulaganathan is working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, Amrita School of Physical Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore, India. Earlier, Dr. Ulaganathan received Ph.D. in Physics from Alagappa University, School of Physics, Tamil Nadu, India, in 2011. He joined as Research Fellow at the Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2012. He also served at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI) from 2017 to 2022 as a Ramanujan Fellow (One of the prestigious awards given by Govt of India). Recently, Dr. Ulaganathan has been listed in the World’s Top- 2% Scientist list in the field of Energy. He has contributed decisively to one of the emerging fields of electrochemical energy storage systems, including Redox Flow Batteries, Li-ion batteries, Na-ion batteries, Hybrid Electrochemical Capacitors, and Electrochemical Supercapacitors. Dr. Ulaganathan has contributed more than 80 research articles in reputed international Scopus-indexed journals. He has been recognized with good citations and a 30 h-index.

Currently, Dr. Ulaganathan is focusing on various metal oxides and metal hydroxide nanomaterials for energy storage applications. The focus also includes anode and cathode materials for secondary battery applications, electro-catalyst for redox flow battery (RFB) applications, recycling of battery materials, flow design, and fabricating various energy storage systems.
