Dr. K. Unnikrishna Pillai, Professor, Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, Amrita School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri, has been appointed as member for the governing body of the National Institute of Ayurveda for a period of three years. 

The National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), was established in 1976 at Jaipur, by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The National Institute of Ayurveda is an apex Institute under the Department of AYUSH for promoting the growth and development of Ayurveda as a model institute for evolving high standards of teaching, training, research and patient care. It also promotes a scientific outlook in the knowledge of Ayurvedic System of Medicine.
