Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman – IQAC, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, delivered the keynote address for an international conference organized by the Indian Science Congress Association, Coimbatore Chapter and Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Coimbatore as a part of Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC), Government of India initiative on 18 th December, 2023. Dr. Prashant R. Nair spoke on ‘Applications of AI & Emerging Technologies’ related to the theme of the conference, namely ‘Socioeconomic Impact of Pollution in Water Bodies and Remedial Measures’. Dr. Prashant also participated in the inaugural function of the conference and chaired the conference sessions of the computing track of the conference. The conference was inaugurated by Prof. David Ian Benson of Exeter University, United Kingdom, and presided over by Dr. C.A. Vasuki, Secretary and director of Kongunadu Arts & Science College. Dr. L. Kathirvel Kumaran, Head of the Department of Computer Science with Data Analytics of the college, introduced and welcomed Dr. Prashant R. Nair to the conference participants.
