Amrita School of Spiritual and Cultural Studies conducted Tiranga: 75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on August 10 -11, 2022, evoking the spirit of patriotism and celebrating the 75 years of freedom of our country. A two-day event was organized at the Amritapuri campus to celebrate this day as well as to remember the brave hearts of those who are known and unknown, through the hearts of our students. The event aimed not only at evoking the spirit of patriotism but also to gather the feeling of togetherness as a citizen of our nation.

The initial day (August 10, 2022) collaborated to organize an art event themed My India. Art being a wonderful mode of expression of thoughts and feelings, the event could evoke the minds of the students in wandering their thoughts through the various social, cultural, political and traditional aspects of our nation into their creations. The students were prior provided with registration link sent via mail registration and spot registration was also provided. The pre-registered or spot-registered participants attended to be part and portrayed a few wonderful artistic creations pointing out the culture, e leaders and social issues.

The final day was organized for a speech and cultural event, which was held at the central lawn. The occasions began with the prayer seeking the blessings of Amma, ‘Mata Amritanadamayi Devi’, followed by pledge. The ceremony was inaugurated by Smt. Dr. S. N. Jyoti (Associate Dean, School of Engineering) and Shri. Narayanan Karupath (Principal School of Arts and Sciences). The occasion was dignified with the presence of Shri. A. R .J. Menon (Student Affairs), Shri. Dr. Anandh S. (Principal (I/n.), Amrita School Of spiritual and Cultural Studies), faculties, staff and students.

The inaugural speech of Smt. Dr. S. N. Jyoti and Shri. Narayanan Karupath, followed by a certificate distribution ceremony to show appreciation to all the participants of the art event. All participants were appreciated for their effort and participation bestowed for the event.

A musical event evoking and embracing the hearts of the audience following created a soothing impact on the audience. A wonderful patriotic musical event was exhibited on the central lawn by the talented and creative students of the campus.

The final day of the event organized for a speech event themed on the unknown heroes of our nation, where the participants enlightened on the unknown heroes of our nation. The best of the final participants delivered innovative and knowledgeable speeches on the brave hearts of the nation.

Finally, the cultural program ended with a beautiful skit on the unknown hero ‘Khudiram Bose’, a brave heart who sacrificed his life fighting against Britishers at the age of 18, creating a wonderful experience amongst the audience.
