Amrita University Hosted 24th National Convention of Electrochemists with CSIR-CECRI

Coimbatore, April 28: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham hosted the 24th National Convention of Electrochemists (NCE-24), jointly organized with the Society for the Advancement of Electrochemical Science and Technology (SAEST) and CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), on April 27 and 28 at its Coimbatore campus.

The two-day convention brought together students, researchers, scientists, and industry professionals from across the country for discussions on recent developments in electrochemical science and technology.

The programme featured 12 invited lectures, memorial talks, and technical sessions by experts from leading institutions and industries. Topics included corrosion science, batteries, fuel cells, materials engineering, industrial electrochemistry, and energy systems. Speakers represented institutions such as IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IISc Bengaluru, IISER Pune, IISER Bhopal, BITS Pilani Goa, IGCAR, ISRO, and Aditya Birla Science & Technology.

Dr. U. Kamachi Mudali, Vice Chancellor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai, attended as the Chief Guest and delivered the plenary address during the inaugural session.

A major highlight of the event was the exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dr. K. Ramesha, Director, CSIR-CECRI, and Dr. Bipin Nair, Registrar, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. The MoU aimed to promote collaboration in research, innovation, and academic exchange in electrochemistry and related fields.

The convention also included oral presentations, poster sessions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities for researchers and students.
