Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham took part in the National Conference and Exhibition on Corporate Social Responsibility (NCCSR) 2026, held at The Ashok, New Delhi, on October 6–7. Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, was among the panellists at a high-level session on Board Governance and Strategic Commitment in CSR, while the university also showcased its sustainability initiatives at the accompanying exhibition.
Organised by the School of Business Environment, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, the third edition of NCCSR was held under the theme “Re-envisioning the Spirit of CSR for Viksit Bharat: From Compliance to Commitment.” The two-day conference brought together senior government officials, corporate leaders, academic experts and development-sector representatives to deliberate on the evolving role of CSR in India’s development journey.
Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh participated in the high-level panel on “Board Governance and Strategic Commitment in CSR” on October 6. The session brought together senior representatives from industry, academia and the development sector to examine the role of leadership and governance in strengthening CSR strategy and institutional commitment. The panel included Shri Ashok Kumar Gupta (Retd.), CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation and former Chairperson, CCI and NFRA; Shri Manish Patil, Director (Human Resources), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited; Shri Ayush Gupta, Director (Human Resources), GAIL (India) Limited; Shri Bibhuti Ranjan Pradhan, Executive Director (Coordination and CSR), Indian Oil Corporation Limited; Dr. Purvi Mehta, Independent Director, Mahindra Agri Solutions Limited; and Ms. Ruchi Sadhana, Vice President, HCLTech. The session was moderated by Prof. Garima Dadhich, Head, School of Business Environment, IICA.
The Amrita delegation also included Dr. Krishna Nandanan, Assistant Professor, Amrita School for Sustainable Futures, and Program Manager – Industry Relations and Sustainability Initiatives, Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor. The delegation engaged with participants and stakeholders from across government, industry and academia during the conference.
At the exhibition arena, the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham stall drew interest from conference participants, providing an opportunity to showcase the university’s work in sustainability, research and community engagement. The stall also served as a platform for interaction with representatives from government, industry and academia, facilitating conversations around sustainability and socially impactful initiatives.
The conference programme featured discussions on social stock exchanges, sector-based approaches to CSR aligned with SDG priorities, AI and technology, convergence and collective impact, inclusive regional growth, skills and employment, and women’s economic empowerment.
Amrita’s engagement at NCCSR 2026 brought its academic leadership and sustainability initiatives into a national forum focused on strengthening CSR as a meaningful contributor to inclusive and sustainable development.
