“These events have always united all five campuses in our institution,” stated Dr. S. Krishnamoorthy, Registrar, at the inauguration. “This is a platform where we feel the oneness, despite stiff competition on the ground.”

Students seemed to agree.

“Games are good. Opponents are friendly. Crowd is great,” remarked Arjun Mohan Kumar, first year MBBS student from Kochi who participated.

The hosts cheered the participants, even as the events showcased the talents of the Amrita students, both boys and girls.

The winning students will have the opportunity to travel to and participate in the sports meets organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham being an AIU member.

“We are witnessing a wide plethora of talented young players,” stated Mr. O. J. Kumaresan, Physical Education Director at Coimbatore. “This inter-campus meet, in addition to meeting other objectives, is helping our students prepare for national-level competitions.”

“The best from our pool of talented players will represent the institution at AIU and other national meets.”

Several students who won, credited the infrastructure and the training opportunities available to them at Amrita, for having helped them hone their talents.
