According to recent forecasts, the current gap between demand and supply of talent in the analytics industry will further widen, with a staggering 60% of analytic job roles in 2018 being predicted to remain unfilled, due to lack of skilled professionals. In keeping with the increasing importance of analytics and to cater to the ever increasing demand for qualified professionals in the analytics domain, AMRITA is excited to announce the commencement of a ‘Business Analytics’ specialization option as part of its MBA program at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Kochi campuses.
This new specialization option in ‘Business Analytics’ will be available from 2016 and the MBA students admitted in 2015 across Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Kochi will be among the first to avail this exciting opportunity. The Bengaluru campus has been offering a dual degree- MBA from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and MS in Business Analytics from State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo over the past few years.
From as early as 2010, cutting edge electives on Business Analytics/Business Intelligence have been a regular feature of the MBA programme at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Kochi. ‘Data Analytics Club’, an interdisciplinary students club was recently launched in Kochi campus to enhance the awareness and interest of this exciting field and boost the analytics quotient of students, while promoting the use of open source technologies. Meanwhile at the Bangalore campus, an interdisciplinary Center for Data Analytics Research (CeDAR) has been set up together with expertise from University at Buffalo and industry, to conduct research and consulting activities in this area. The introduction of a separate specialization on Business Analytics further consolidates AMRITA’s commitment to foster and contribute to the analytics education/training spectrum and produce industry-ready analytics professionals.
