Date: 5 June 2026
Coverage: 7 Amrita RITE Centres across 5 States
Participants: 96 Students (40 Boys | 56 Girls)
To mark World Environment Day 2026, Amrita RITE centres across five states came together to promote environmental awareness through practical, community-focused activities. Guided by this year’s theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”, students demonstrated their commitment to protecting the environment by taking meaningful action within their villages.
A total of 96 students (40 boys and 56 girls) from seven Amrita RITE centres actively participated in tree planting, plastic waste clean-up drives, and poster-making activities. By planting trees, students contributed to enhancing local biodiversity, while the clean-up drives helped create cleaner and healthier community spaces. Through colourful posters carrying environmental messages, they also encouraged villagers to adopt sustainable practices and care for their surroundings.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to translate environmental awareness into action, reinforcing values of responsibility, teamwork, and community service. These activities reflected Amrita RITE’s commitment to nurturing environmentally conscious young leaders who understand the importance of protecting natural resources for future generations.
