The School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 4, 2015, at Brahmasthanam auditorium at 2 p.m.
In association with CSI, Kochi Chapter, a technical talk was organized by the Department of CS & IT, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, on the topic “Enterprise Content Management(ECM) Solutions: Towards the goal of social inclusion” as part of the extra mural lecture series, Vidyamritam on September 3, 2015.
Keeping with the theme of Independence Day “Aazad Bharat, Saakshar Gaon”, another initiative of AmritaCREATE was launched on August 16th. The initiative has been launched to bring specialized tutoring, via Amrita Virtual Interactive e-Learning World (A-VIEW), to children in remote areas where there is limited internet connectivity.
Students at the Amrita Education Centers across India participated in Rakshabandhan or Rakhi Purnima, a special occasion to celebrate the love and duty between brothers and sisters.
Dr. Madhavan Chalat, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia’s Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, addressed the students and faculty of Amrita School of Biotechnology on August 20, 2015.
Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore celebrated UTSAV 2015- the three-day annual sports and cultural extravaganza. The program saw an enthusiastic participation of students in a variety of competitions, ranging from badminton to throw ball in sports, and face painting to street plays in cultural games.
The Department of Commerce and Management, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, organised an Industrial Visit to The KKR Group of Companies, Nirapara, Kalady, to give an insight into the practical aspect of Production and Operation management for the students of M.Com. 1st & 3rd semester and BBM 5th Semester on August 30, 2015.
The students of School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi campus, presented various programs at All India Radio – Yuvavani on August 24, 2015.
Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru Campus organized the 2nd Annual Alumni Meet on 1st August, 2015. The program was graced by Associate Dean & Head, Dr. Rakesh S.G. and Ms. Supriya M., Chair of the Alumni Association, Bengaluru Chapter & Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru.
The second year MSW students of the department of Social Work, Coimbatore campus along with Ryerson University students from Canada stayed at the tribal settlement of Komalikudi in Idukki District of Kerala from 6th to 13th August 2015 as part of the Live-in-LabsTM program.
