The Chief Minister of Andra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, is all set to change the new capital, Amaravati, into a knowledge hub. He was happy to announce that many universities are going to be a part of this project and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is going to be one among them. This announcement was made in the inauguration of SRM University at Neerukonda village in Mangalagiri Mandal, Amaravati on Saturday.

Students of the Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri Campus bagged the first prize in the national-level Hybrid Cycle Designing and Racing event named ‘Efficycle’ held at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Chandigarh from October 12 to 14. The contest was organised by the prestigious Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Amrita won the first prize in ‘Best Acceleration’ and finished runners-up in ‘Endurance Race’. The seven-member Amrita Efficycle team received a prize money of Rs. 1,45,000.
